Problem:
Specifically, mail messages containing attachments brought down to the local
Microsoft Outlook PST file (via DAMO) display as unread. Other messages you
read in DWA appear correctly as already read when brought into Outlook.
This issue has been addressed in DAMO 6.5.4.

SPR# MSER63YNUZ - Previously, DAMO would assume that newly downloaded messages
with attachments were unread, setting their unread marks also in the Notes
cache, which would replicate to the server. This had the effect of making
messages that had been read with another client -- iNotes, for instance --
appear to be unread. Now, newly downloaded messages may briefly appear to be
unread as they are loading, but their unread status is adjusted to match the
server once the server transmits this information. More >
